Course: Radio Communication Systems

Radio Communication Systems is a graduate-level course. It focuses on the different mobile generations like GSM, GPRS, EDGE and UMTS. Course also covers other wireless systems like satellite networks and radar systems. During the course student will learn about terrain modeling and radio network planning. Students will also use OPNet Modeler environment in designing and simulation exercises.

 

Course: Wireless Transmission Techniques

Wireless Transmission Techniques is a under-graduate-level course. It focuses on the wireless transmission basics. OPNet Modeler will be used by showing examples about different networks and simulating different transmission techniques. Course will give to the students a good basic knowledge of the wireless transmission so that the students can participate to the graduate courses.

 

Course: Wireless Lab

Wireless Lab Course is a under-graduate-level course. During the course students will use OPNet Modeler environment to do different kind of wireless laboratory exercises. Part of laboratory exercises are also done independently or in small groups. Laboratory exercises focuses for example to the UMTS network planning, terrain modelling, WLAN techniques and other radio networks and technologies.

 

Course: Networking Lab

Networking Lab Course is a under-graduate-level course. During the course students will use OPNet Modeler environment to do different kind of networking laboratory exercises. Part of laboratory exercises are also done independently or in small groups. Laboratory exercises focuses for example to the ATM, SONET, router networks, LAN techniques, VPN and other networking technologies. Some laboratory exercises are based on the Emad Aboelela: Network Simulation Experiments Manual book.

 

Course: Telecommunication Seminar

Telecommunication Seminar Course is a graduate-level course. During the course student will get a deeper knowledge of the one chosen subject. Subject can be for example radio network modeling with OPNet Modeler. Student will prepare a seminar paper from the subject and will present it in the seminar to other students.
